MARTIN C. JOHNSON, ESQ., MBA, RMA®, EA

In my early years as a financial planner, I realized that estate planning was an often overlooked area of planning not only by clients but by their financial advisors.

The reason I became an estate planning attorney was to help people make sure that their wishes are carried out during incapacity and after death. I had seen too many people impacted by the lack of estate planning or poor estate planning. I did not want to see the government or the courts take control of a person's property in a way that was not consistent with the person's wishes and intent. I am passionate about making sure that estate and property wishes are accurately reflected in living trusts and other estate-planning documents for my clients. Knowing that families won't have to scramble, get stuck in court, or lose property for failure to plan motivates me.

Helping people with their finances is something I have enjoyed for over 28 years because of the impact it has on them and their legacies. I help singles, marrieds, and blended families sort out the complexities of establishing an estate plan that is flexible enough to meet their current needs and any changes that may arise in the future. My firm delivers exceptional service and support throughout the planning process. My mission is to help those who value good advice, want to take care of business, and want to take care of their families and charitable causes they are passionate about.

Background and Interests

I love basketball, especially Golden State Warriors basketball since 2005 (yes, I suffered through the bad times). I love great wine, music, and good conversations.

Being a graduate of the University of The Pacific, in Stockton, CA, and California State University East Bay, I have deep roots in the Bay Area and Central Valley. My previous experience includes the position of Law Clerk for the Law Office of Joan Grimes, Financial Planner for Prudential Preferred Advisors; Regional Vice President for USAllianz Investor Services, LLC; Agency Owner, Allstate Insurance Co; and Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

In addition to volunteering for various community and civic organizations over the years, I have served on School Site Councils and on a city Planning Commission. In July 2018, I became the Chairman of the Alameda County Leadership Council of the American Red Cross. Currently, I'm a member of the Professional Advisor Leadership Council of the East Bay Community Foundation. With a wife of 26 years and two children, God has been good to me.
